Disaster Preparedness Information for Foreign Residents (Miyazaki Prefecture)
With the current heavy rains continuing throughout Miyazaki Prefecture, landslides, flooding, and
fierce winds are possible, so it might be a good idea to familiarize yourself with what to do in case of
such an emergency. The prefecture's website provides several resources with information about
disaster preparedness.

What's New?2010.07.18 - The restrictions placed upon institutions in Takazaki have been lifted and normal
operations have resumed.
2010.07.02 - From July 3rd, the city institutions that were closed due to the outbreak of foot-and-
mouth disease will re-open and begin normal operations. However, all institutions in the Takazaki area
are still closed until further notice.

2010.03.05 - The English version of the website has been down for a long time, but we're working on
getting it back up and making it better. It was really outdated and did not work as a way to provide
information to the English-speaking community about Miyakonojo. We are hoping to get the Lifestyle
Resources section up and running as soon as possible with various guides and information that may
prove useful to foreign residents and visitors here in Miyakonojo. Starting soon, we will put information
